This particular client moved to Alabama and adopted a Java Monkey to positively accentuate her family. I was leery about this adoption with concerns about problems socializing and potential diseases that these animals may carry. I had to meet this little diaper wearing pet for myself. As I entered the home, the new German Shepard puppy was chasing the 2lb monkey all around the house and the new baby was sitting on the floor laughing his head off. "Lona" the monkey communicates with facial expressions and by the looks of it, I was soon to be a friend. I had a ball with "Lona", "Thor' the new puppy and "Devon" the new baby. What a fun visit. My opinion about this particular situation was changed. I do not encourage anyone to obtain a primate without checking legal regulation and husbandry requirements for proper care of these sensitive animals. I do not treat primates as they are illegal to own in Georgia.

Cat Fancy

"Bandit" is a absolute flirt. His perpetual wink might just get ya! "Munch" up top and "Tater" to the left make seeing cats an absolute joy. They are all so unique in physical attributes as well as in personalities.
I am sure that having the 'vet come to the pet' made their lives much easier. Most cats that are fearful to go into the veterinary office do not get medical care for years due to the stress of the mere event. A stress free house call ensures they get medical attention every year. These three were a piece of cake, or should I say tuna~;) I cannot thank their human mommy "Danna" enough for sharing them with myself & my staff.
I was stunned by "Taters" coloring and also how well she blended in with the home decor. I find it amazing that pets like "Bandit" that have some physical challenges like the loss of an eye adapt and do exceptionally well. "Munch" was a little shy for the camera, but by the time we left he was ready to be profiled as one of our three pets of the month! I left them purring myself.
Dr. Dani
Pet-Fixer Inc.
Use a mobile vet, Your pets might just lick you for it~!

Carly, Vera Lynn, Henry Lee, & Leonard Cohen

We are honored to profile all four of our feline friends as this months pet of the month. The Bush family extend themselves to rescue cats and offer the very best care for their four babies. Once rescued we were called to neuter Carl, whom we soon realized should be named Carly and a spay would better suit her~;) These four cats co-habitat well together and seldom require Dr. Dani's attention. There are many things that you can do if you have multiple cats to ensure proper health and a sound environment. Here are some useful tips. Having multiple litter boxes cleaned on a regular basis will ensure proper voiding and decrease the chance of urinary tract problems.

Feed a diet formulated for multiple cats. It is best to feed at specified feeding times instead of allowing for all day and night grazing to reduce the potential of obesity. Dry food is recommended to prevent dental disease as well as obesity unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian. Try not to give a large number of treats, cut them in half to prevent obesity. Offer multiple water receptacles at all times. These are just a few tips that the Bush family implements making for a healthy four cat household.

Pet-Fixer thanks the Bush family for sharing with us!

Introducing "Piper"

Introducing "Piper" a Golden Retriever rescue who has won the heart of her new mommy Leslie. Piper is a bit shy and may be a bit leery until she gets to know you. Her mom has worked very hard to socialize her and let her know that there is some good out there. Just in time for the Beijing Olympics. Simba certainly takes the GOLD! Due to the lack of hair, this breed is predisposed to skin problems and should be protected from too much direct sun. (Although shedding is not a problem~;) Simba lives with 4 other dogs all unique and accentuating the positive to this loving family home! Girlfriend, Oreo, Spanky, and Skeeter welcome Simba as the newest addition to the family. You see how well they pose for the picture. They are very well adjusted and love their vet~;) Paying a house call to this residence is always fun not just because I get to play with the puppies but also because their owners have been my clients for 10 years and have become my friends. I would be remiss if i didn't mention Rat (chihuahua) and April (poodle) who are their four legged cousins whom are not pictured but not forgotten. Muffy is a new addition to the home, and this family could not be more thrilled! Muffy is a 7 month old Malti-Poo (which is a Maltese mixed with a poodle). She is one of the growing designer breeds that include a combination of two favorable breeds. The Maltese is small, has a beautiful coat and is considered a pocket pet and a poodle is known to be hypo-allergenic, small and a great companion pet. The combination is great and as you can see, adorable! These pets require regular grooming visits, dental care and anal gland evaluation as maintenance. Overall they are great pets. Muffy just returned from a family vacation and did well for the car ride. I think Muffy is a keeper for this family and we are grateful to be the family veterinarian and to have Muffy and her Dad as our feature for this month.

Gucci and Julie

Gucci adopted Julie 5 years ago.
